Acrylic blues

This is only the second acrylic painting I have done in my life, so I shouldn't really complain, but this just doesn't seem to be working for me.

I guess I will get round to finishing it eventually, but it has had so many problems that for the moment I think I just need to put it aside for a while. I think the main problem is that the canvas is the wrong shape and so the horse looks like he is falling out of the picture.

Yes it is good to leave a paint alone for a while and come back to it again with fresh eyes and mind. I read that some artist hand the painting upside down on a wall for a while to get a fresh sight on it.

You may have to tone down the brightness of the reds in this painting they may be too bold for the more muted and natural colors of the horse.

Remember that even paintings that you don't like you do learn from.
